Chevrolet: 1995 Chevy Lumina, chevy lumina, auburn al

Question
Hi, Keith. I just bought a 1995 Chevy Lumina. The thing runs great except for a noticible - it'll put your hands to sleep -(and noisy) high- frequency vibration which occurs at all speed ranges above 20 MPH. Putting the transmission in neutral (at speed) does not stop the vibration or the noise.

I'm hoping that the trouble is the tires - and not the front end. Do you have any idea what the problem might be?

Thanks. Best, Ben Vandervoort, Auburn, AL

Answer
Hj Ben, it is possible that it is the tires, but unlikely at low speeds. It sounds to me like a wheel bearing problem, you should hear a different sound with a left turn or a right turn. Wheel bearing failure is common in luminas, and it dont cost a pile of money to fix. I hope this helps you, If you need more info just let me know. Regards, Keith
