Chevrolet: electrical, solenoid, jm

Question
when i turn my key, it is if the battery is disconnected from the car...no gauges, sounds, lights, solenoid clicking...no power available whatsoever...completely dead.
this happened before and the car started fine a few hours later.  the battery is fully charged. is there some relay or chip that is sticking or malfunctioning?

 the  first thing that i would do is to CLEAN the batt. terms. and check the connections also see if belts are ok. it sounds as it has a bad conection. what year is the car, as it could be anything but it is probably nothing .
