Chevrolet: troubleshoot, long periods of time, reliable cars

Question
hello. i have a '97 geo metro lsi (that's the 2-door hatchback) and up until recently it has given me no trouble what-so-ever. i know from previous experience and other people's stories that these are fairly reliable cars. the problem is, it's started to NOT start for no apparent reason at all lately. granted, i received another car which i have been driving and so this one was stationary in the minnesota winter for periods of 2 to 3 weeks at a time but recently i've taken it out on the road to blow the cobwebs out, so to speak and it seemed to have worked (as in, the car was starting fine again). i attributed the initial problem w/it not starting to the fact that it wasn't getting driven and was just sitting out in the cold for long periods of time. but now it didn't start again this morning and i've been driving it regularly again for the last week. it did rain a little last night but i haven't had any problems with it getting 'water-logged' or whatever in the past minus the occasional hitch in the engine when it's really wet outside when i first start it up (that's happened maybe 3 times, if that). just from experience, do you think you might have any idea what could be going on? i'd appreciate any advice you could offer me. thanks in advance

Answer
HI;
 It is possible you could have moisture in the dist cap. if it still happens get a can of spray and do what it says on the can or have someone do it for you.
if it starts up and runs fine that is good   prob. nothing big.  also = how is your fuel filter and air filter ??
