Ford: ford diesel transmission, torque convertor, ford diesel

Sir I have a 97 F 350 power stroke when I'm going down hill and touch the brake the convertor cuts loose. I'm wondering if this can be remedied short of buying a chip ?

Hello,

The Torque convertor lock-up is designed to create a full mechanical link between the engine and the transmission, so braking requires this link to be broken to prevent damage.

I am not aware of devices to delay this, but I am not a rop deisel tech.

I would consult a deisel performance shop.
