Dodge: brake light coming on, maintenece, new trucks

Question
I've got a 1998 Dodge Ram 4x4 1500 pickup.  The other day I was going down the road and the red "BRAKE" light and the "ABS" light came on.  I checked the fluid and it was ok. The truck is driving okay and the There is no noise coming from the front end such as brake pads rubbing or anything like that I was wondering if maybe the lights just come on at a certain mileage for maintenece or maybe they are stuck on for some reason.  The truck has 67,000 miles. About a week ago I had a new left front wheel bearing put in.  Before the bearing was put in the brakes would be soft, like there was a leak in the line.  After the work the brakes were fine, except until the lights came on.  Any information would help, thanks.

Answer
I have a 96 Ram,the light has been on for about 2 years, brakes are fine.I took it to the dealer, they couldn't find anything. It won't affect anything except the aggravation of just seeing the light on.It could be a sensor but with the abs system on the new trucks it is much too complicated and expensive to even worry about without a warranty.I don't even think the dealers know what to do about it because most of the mechanics there without the complicated diagnostic machines are nothing more than just parts changers. This is why they always say to let them change the part instead of trying to diagnose what caused the problem to begin with.
