Dodge: 97 Ram reving high in first gear, dodge dealership, transmission shop

Question
I have a 97 Ram 1500 4x2 automatic.  It has started reving high in first gear, before shifting to second.  All other gears are working fine. It is not shifting until between 3 and 3200 rpms.  I have not had any major problems with the truck, until now.  Any ideas and/or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks man,

J

Answer
Jason,
Mine is doing the exact same thing,I talked to a friend who is the manager at the Dodge dealership in the service department and found out that these transmission have to be updated. He told me they would put it on the computer and reset it.This will be the best place to start,i've taken mine to a transmission shop and they wanted to do a rebuild. And also a lot cheaper.....And one more thing ( Do Not Use Anything But The Dodge Transmission Fluid In These Transmissions)or it will cost you dearly! If you need anything else just hollar! Thanks RamMan
