Ford: 1997 Ford Mustang, ford mustang, seperate key

Question
Did the 1997 Ford Mustang come with separate keys for the ignition and doors.  What do we do if the car we purchased only came with an ignition key and remote entry.

Answer
Hi

Don't lose the key or let your fob battery die!

Just kidding...

Give Ford a call and give them your VIN number. They will tell you if there is a seperate key for the glove box, trunk, doors and ignition.

Sometimes an owner will remove the door locks to discourage theives and rely solely on the fob (remote)

The dealer will also be able to cut a key based on the VIN as long as the locks have not been replaced.

The ignition key has a sensor in it for the anti theft and cannot be duplicated at most locksmiths and therefore may be a bit pricey.
