Ford: ford explorer seat, ford extended service, rv supply

Question
Hi. I recently bought a 2006 Explorer and the drivers seat feels like the frame is bent to the left. Almost as if the person before me was over weight and bent the frame from entering and exiting the vehicle. This, in turn, makes the seat highly uncomfortable for me even for short drives. I'm trying to find out if 1. The ford extended service plan (full package, most expensive one) will cover putting a new seat in. Or 2. Do you know of a reputable company that will sell after market seats for this year explorer. I really need a new seat. Its making this vehicle a pain to drive. Literally!

Answer
Hello,

For an aftermarket seat, you would probably need to contact an RV supply , they provide seats for RV's and conversions.

All factory seats are made from the lowest grade metals (I suspect recycled) and they often break or bend. You should get 10 years out of an OEM seat if it isn't abused, or your freindly Auto recycler( Wrecking yard) will often have a choice of seats and will be able to tell you if they are a direct bolt in.
