Ford: 94 ranger 4x4 transfer case, front wheel drive, transfer case

Question
after the idiots who did the clutch didn't tighten the driveshaft bolts & they fell out, the truck was moved slightly using front wheel drive only. since reconnecting the driveshaft, 4x4 will not engage properly(clunking and such). any ideas?

Answer
Hello,

Sorry, nothing comes to mind.

Does 4x4 light come on? This means transfer case has accepted the shift and all that's left is for the hubs to engage.  I would raise thefornt wheels and see if they are engaging, then inspect the hub that is not, or raise all 4 wheels and see where the noise originates.
