Ford: limp home mode/2004 ford f150, electronic throttle control, calibration files

Question
My 2004 goes into limp mode at 40mph. Turn the key off and it resets until you reach 40mph again. Code set is 2106.  I replaced the throttle body assembly that included both TACM and TPS. This did not fix the problem.  Truck is running fine otherwise. During limp mode will not shift into overdrive and does not coast when you let off the gas pedal and rpms drop sharply.  Rpm's about 1600/50mph and 2000/60mph in limp mode because it will not shift into 4th gear.  Any ideas to check what sensor is causing this or is it to the ford dealer-outch!  Thanks' Bud in Arkansas

Answer
Hello.

i have found that a loose battery connection may cause this, otherwise see the attached ford bulletin for a reprogramming of the ECM  usually about $100
