Pontiac Repair: fan, coolant level, coolant leak

i have 1999 pontiac sunfire  my  cooling fan starting to often

Hi Les:
does this have a temp gauge on the speedo cluster? if so is the temp running hot? If not then chance are it's not running too hot, but I would make sure the coolant level is up in the overflow surge tank. if the level is low I would look for a coolant leak. If you live in a warm climate and the a/c is on and it still works the increased load on the cooling system will make the fan run more often too. good luck :)
