Question
My 1992 Ford F150 pickup started ran for a few seconds and quit, the strong smell of eletrical wires or something filled the cab.  Now the truck doesn't start, turns over but doesn't start.  I have checked all of the obvious things that might cause it not to start.   Do you have any ideas?  (351 windsor)  thank you

Answer
Hi

All you can do is to search under the dash for the source of the smell/ smoke.

The burnt wire smell should be strongest near the affected wires, so follow your nose.

Once you find the wires, then you can try to determine the extent of damage and the cause.

One thing to consider is any added alarm, lights etc.

Check the fusable links located near the battery. If a major componenet failed, one of these wires should have melted to prevenbt a fire or other damage.
