Ford: 1987 F150, mile trip, fords

Question
I have an 87 F150 that runs fine in the winter but as soon as the weather starts getting warm the truck acts up.  Its fine for a 7-10 mile trip to the store but as it gets warmer it acts as if it is going to cut off.  I have to push the clutch and keep revving the motor to keep it running.  Sometimes that doesnt even help.

I have recently replaced the pumps and filters.  Any Ideas?

Answer
Hello,

The idle air control motor is a very common failure on older Fords. They especially act up warm.
You can try to clean them with carb spray and a toothbrush, but when they get bad, they need to be replaced.
