Ford: 1994 Ford Taurus making noise and bouncing., cv shaft, ford taurus

My 1994 ford taurus makes a loud clunking noise and tends to kind of rock at the same time. It is not a smooth ride when driving at especially low speeds. I know it has a leak in the tranny is this what is causing the problem? I know the car can't pass safety because of this noise and bouncing. How can i fix the car to solve this problem? The garage doesn't know what it could be they think it might be some kind of censor. What can be causing this problem could it be this censor and if so what is the censor called and where on the car is it located? Thanks

where r u located?

When you say the car rocks, do you mean the entire car? or just the engine?

Is the CEL on? and what codes are stored in the PCM?

Does the clunking and/ or rocking continue if you put transmission into neutral while driving?


It sounds a little like a CV shaft problem, but I will require more info to point you in the right direction.
