Ford: 87 Ford 150 stalls, intake plenum, ford 150

Question
Why does my truck (87 Ford 150 fuel injected six) stall after getting warm. It doesn't do it in the winter. It doesn't do it when it's rolling. Only when it is stopped and idling. A little fan comes on next to the throttle body and then about a minute later it stalls. It will restart in a few minutes, but will stall again if you stop moving.

Answer
I suspect a faulty IAC (Idle air control)motor. This supplies air past the throttle plate at idle ( no throttle) situations. They are prone to acting up or failing when warm.

It is a pill bottle shaped device near the throttle body. remove it and inspect. If it is very dirty, clean with carb cleaner and a toothbrush. This may help. Otherwise try replacing it.

The fan you speak of cools the injectors and fuel line under the intake plenum.
