QUESTION: I have a 1984 300 six. can the valve lash be ajusted? thanks mike

ANSWER: I am 99% sure that it can not be adjusted... I think it has hydroulic lifters and pedistal mount rockers...

QUESTION: so the ticking sound is a bad sign? had a friend tell me that i could adjust them and get it out? what else might it be coming from?

it could be comming from the lifters... ty draining a quart of oil and assing a quart of atf to the crankcase... drive it normal for a week and do an oil change... the atf is full of detergents and it will help clean the inside of the engine for ya... (Helps to free up sticking lifters... ) without hearing the sound it is hard to tell where it is comming from... let me know what happens....
