Ford: E-150 power steering pump replacement., power steering pump, high pressure hose

Question
How do I replace a power steering pump on my 1987 Ford E-150?  Thank-you.

Answer
REMOVAL

Remove the drive belt.
Raise and support the vehicle.

Disconnect the power steering reservoir pump hose from the power steering pump.
Drain the power steering oil reservoir.

Remove the high-pressure fitting from the power steering pump. NOTE: Replacement of the power steering high-pressure fitting is only necessary when replacing the power steering high-pressure hose. The high-pressure fitting is a one-time usage, quick connect only. Once the high-pressure hose is installed, the fitting will not disconnect.

Remove the two top power steering pump bolts.

Remove the lower pump bolt and remove the power steering pump.
INSTALLATION

Position the power steering pump and loosely install the three bolts.

Tighten the two upper power steering pump bolts.

Tighten the lower power steering pump bolt.

Install a new power steering Teflon(R) seal on the power steering pressure fitting by stretching the Teflon(R) seal over Seal Replacer Set until it is large enough to slip over the threads of the fitting.

Install the power steering pressure fitting to the power steering pump.

Install the power steering return hose to the power steering pump.
Lower the vehicle and install the drive belt.
Flush the power steering system.
