Ford: 2004 f-150 fuel filter, filter costs, tool costs
QuestionMy f-150 just started acting as if it were running out of gas if you hit passing gear. I was told it was probably the fuel filter. Where is the fuel filter and how easy is it to replace and about how muchshould it cost. Not a mechanic.
AnswerRobert, the fuel filter is going to be on the inside of the frame, just behind the driver's side door. It will be a lot easier to change if you pick up a fuel line quick disconnect tool at the parts store. The filter costs about 10 dollars and the tool costs about 6 dollars. If that doesn't solve your problem, I would look to changing your ignition coil. Good luck, Jason
