Ford: SAFEST WAY TO JACK-UP MY CAR, ford mustang coupe, ford mustang

Question
Hi Ragu

I recently bought a '66 Ford Mustang Coupe and would like to know the best and safest way to jack-up the entire car to work under it?

I recently bought (4) 3 1/2 ton car stands and (1) 3 1/2 ton floor jack.

A friend of mine suggested to use only two car stands and buy 2 ramps. I'm to drive the car up the ramsps first and chuck the back wheel and then jack the rear of the car and place the car stands there.

WHAT'S THE BEST AND SAFEST WAY TO DO THIS RAGU?

THANK YOU RAGU.
P.S. I'm looking for the most height I can get so I can work comfortable under the car.

THANKS AGAIN RAGU

Answer
Ray  using the ramps is not to safe due to the reasons when  you drive up is fine but when you go to jack up the rear you have a chance the car will roll off the front .The best way is using your jack stands and a roll jack . place the jack under the center of the rear end go up to were you can place the stands under the axle tubes then go to the front and do the same but this time place them under the lower control arms were the spring towers are. then go back to the rear and now rise it to the full height of your roll jack height .now if you roll jack doesn't go up that high just put  wood under the jack and keep raising it till you jet your height you need .  GOOD LUCK.
