Ford: wierd electrical problem, haynes book, daytime running lights

Question
hi thx!  i have a 95 escort and after i installed a cd player, it began having wierd electrical problems.  now after i shut off the car and remove the key the heater fan keeps working.  i have to turn it to off or it will keep going.  also my daytime running lights stay on too.  if i pull the ebrake they go off.  also the dimmer for the instument illumination wont dim anymore.  ive un-installed the cd player and made sure none of the wires were touching, and ive checked every fuse and still the problem.  i wonder if i caused a short in some relay somewhere but dont know what my next step in troubleshooting this should be. any help you have is much appericiated.

somwhere you have the running lights wired hot (you bypassed the switch).if you had wires that were touching metal you would blow a fuse.the same thing with ths fan you wired it direct.the best way to fix this is a wiring schmatic for your car.you can get a haynes book at auto zone or advance auto.just take your time and check the wiring at the switchs, somtimes if you cross wires, neg on pos will cause this also.if you need more help write back and ill try to walk you through it.hope this helps.
