Ford: air conditioning, displacement compressor, displacement unit

Is the air compressor on a 1988 5.0 mustang, a fixed or variable displacement unit.

If it is a variable displacement compressor is there a fixed unit available on any other years of mustang 5.0 up to 1994 ?  
Answer -
 88 to 93 were the same .fixed and that is only for the orifice sys.

How do I determine if my system is an orfice system  ???

the line that goes from the condensor to the evapator its the small one when you disc. it from the evap. if you look inside you will see a orifice tube inside if not then it is inside  what they call the liquid line.if its inside the line it is fixed.
