Question -
I have a 93 Ranger with a 4 cylinder and manual trans. It didn't come with a factory tach and I would like to put one in. I have a Sunnen tach that will work on a 4 cylinder and would like to know where to hook up the lead that normally goes to the distributor. Please let me know if this is even possible.

         Thanks,

does this vehicle have 2 coil packs is it 3.0 or 4.0

Answer

Tachometer Connection
The ignition coil connector allows a tachometer connection using an alligator clip, without removing the coil connector. This is accomplished by inserting the alligator clip into the back of the connector, onto the dark green/yellow dotted wire.

CAUTION: Do not allow this clip to accidently ground to a metal surface. It may permanently damage the coil.
