Dodge: Dodge Ram 1500-burning oil fast, dodge ram 1500, oil consumption

Question
Hi. My '97 Dodge Ram 1500-2wheel drive has been burning thru oil. I am constantly having to put oil in it. It just dries up and I don't know why. Can you tell me what might be the problem?

Answer
The plenum gasket needs replacing, remove the intake and flip it over there is a plenum pan underneath the bottom side of the intake it has a gasket on it,the gasket there is broken. The oil is being sucked into the intake is what is causing the oil consumption.Unless you know a good mechanic this can and is a very time consuming job.You can also have him run a vacuum on the engine to tell for sure.Mine did this, when i replaced the gasket everything was back to normal.
