Ford: AOD transmission, ltd crown victoria, recals

Question
I have a 1990 ford ltd crown victoria, it has a 5.0 with the aod tranny.. well the car ran fine and one day acted very lathergic so ... after further inspection i saw that the linkage for the, transmission was off. i always knew these as the kickdown cable, but it seems that it has to move with the cable.. in sinc so to say. is this right, and how does this work??  the problem is i had to zip tie it because autoparts sores couldn't find the part in their computer. i didn't check junk yards yet but i thought that the zip tie, like on older cars would work.. but it shifts way to early now and doesn't have any power unless i manualy shift through the gears. granted it has needed transmition work, since the fluid is browninsh color, and im sure a new modulater vavke wouldn't hurt.  i just wanted to know your personal opinion and if you knew the recals on this car model or not..... thanks for the help: Ian

Answer
Yes there was a tsb on this it's called a t.v. bushing you cant use a wire cause  this is how the pressuer is set to the trans, and if it is to low it won't shift right and in 100 miles  you will burn up the trans.Go to the dealer. it comes with a brass bushing and a clip if the fluid is burned do a trans severce
