The motor works some times, then stops. Then if I wait,It will work
sluggishly going up.

Hi, I own a 95 Explorer 4x4. The rear driver side
window has stopped working. I have narrowed it down to replacing the window motor.

I'm not quite sure of the procedure. I have removed the panel. For inspection and testing.

Can you tell me if I can just replace the Motor?

If so please send procedure!

Thanks

Ted

Ted does the motor not work at all or can you hear it when you hit the switch but the window doesn't move

Answer
there are 3 5/16 bolts if you cant see these bolt heads then if you look closly you will see 3 small dimples in the door it looks like push in dots drill these out with a 1/2 inch drill bit and rt behind you will see the 3 bolts take them out and the motor will fall out you might have to hit it but it will come out.now if you look at the motor were the gear is you will see a screw remove and tap it on a table and the gear will come out.go to a part store and ask for a window lift motor gear kit. and that all.the kit will tell you how to install it.
