GM-GMC: brake problem, gmc sierra, gauge cluster

Question
my emergency brake light on the dash and my abs light are both coming on especially when im traveling on the highway. i can pull over and turn the truck (2000 gmc sierra) off and pump the brakes a few times and the lights will turn off for a few hours. The brake peddal doesnt drop to the floor. I hve replaced all my brakes and pads. What could be causing the lights to come on?

Answer
bleed your brakes, it sounds like there is air getting in somewhere and although it doesn't seem that you are losing fluid it could be a pin size hole in the metal lines somewhere high speeds would cause it to take in more air i would assume.

i would say that there is a sensor somewhere that is not functioning properly and triggering those lights and to check this i guess you would just have to notice what speed these lights come and if it is consistently the same speed maybe a sensor or your gauge cluster setting them off... this is probably not the issue since you pump the brakes and issue resolves.

i would bleed the brakes first and make sure to fill the master cylinder back up from whatever you lost bleeding them. a pin hole leak will suck in air but generally will not let a lot of fluid out so you may not notice a loss of fluid.

after you do that return and let me know if it helps.
