GM-GMC: Rear air lines for gmc suburban, gmc suburban, gm dealer

Question
I have a 1999 GMC Suburban 6.5 with rear air, I am told the lines need to be replaced at a cost of $2000+,is there any type of flexible line that can be fitted for less or an aftermarket line. Could you please suggest some alternative parts or direction I might take.  Thanks Tom (Canada)

Answer
Depending on what the fault is with the line(s) they can  be repaired.  I have spliced in sections as opposed to replacing the entire line set.  It is usually a cheaper and quicker alternative.  Perhaps the shop you are dealing with doesn't have the kit to splice the lines together.  Any GM dealer will have this kit and should be able to section a piece of line in.
Hope this helps
