GM-GMC: 1991 Chevy s-10 4.3 v6, hanes manual, pickup coil

I have a s-10 with the 4.3 and i'm getting no spark at the coil.

I have replaced the module that is mounted to the distributor (icm ignition control module i think)

checked the coil and compared the results with the specs in the hanes manual and replaced the pickup coil  checked the wire that went between the coil and the icm in the dist.
was getting 12 volts to all the primary wires going to the coil

but I'm thinking that the problem might be between the coil and the module on the distributor

Easiest way without getting into some fairly heavy diagnostic testing is to swap the distributor with a known good one, adjust the timing and see if things work.  If you are determined to repair the one you have.  Let me know and I will try to find a service manual for that year of truck at work.
