GM-GMC: Additive for 10.5 limited slip differential?, limited slip differential, chevy dealer

Hi Goodwrencher,
I have replaced the limited slip differential on my 1987 R20 Suburban which has a 10.5" ring gear rear axle.  The new limited slip differential I put in is from the Chevy dealer. I checked the owners manual for the correct gear oil to put in and expected to to find a note as to what additive to put in the gear oil for the limited slip. I did not find such a note.  Does this particular limited
slip axle need an additive for the gear oil?

That question would be best answer by a knowledgable parts person.  If you had the VIN from the truck or the VIN from the truck it was removed if it was from if it was used, they should be able to look in the catalogue and tell you if it does require an additive.
