GM-GMC: window will not roll up, phillips screws, auto parts store

Question
I have a 2004 trailblazer and window got stuck.  It would make clanking sounds going down but would not go up.  Then it stopped halfway down.  Then tryed to pull window up and went up but when let go it fell all the way down.  How do I get door panel off and is this an easy repair or should I take it to dealer?  I got some tinkering skills but not alot.

Answer
Ok you can purchase a tool at a auto parts store !

Is this power windows?

Disconnect your battery !
take off your switches , they will pull up, use a small screwdriver to pull up on one side and then disconnect your wire harness

use the door panel tool to slide up under the door panel , there are small plastic clips approx every 6-8 inches . the panel then clips on the top of the dooor panel , lift up and pull off .you might have phillips screws also holding panel on .

Once you have this off , you will see a piece of thin paper , remove and you will see your window. lift up . have a person hold and you will see tracks. place window in track and then you will have to tighten the tracks to keep the glass tight. be careful , not to tighten too much!
try to move window up and down ,test several times..
you can use locktite ,blue on the screws for window

re-attach panel and then put switch back in
