GM-GMC: Harry, Ive got a 95 chevy..., fuel pump relay, computer versions

Question
Harry,
I've got a '95 chevy 2500 td with stalling problems.
I had the injector pump and pmd replaced, and I replaced the lift pump, fuel tank, pick up unit, fuel filter and fuel supply line recently with no improvement. I then found your website and replaced the ops last month with great success. Thank you!
But this week it started stalling again-so I replaced the ops, fuel pump relay, fuel filter and fuel pump again, but it hasn't helped. So I read your advice about replacing the pmd remotely, and intend to do so, unless you have some other advice. I'm feeling frustrated and ready to buy a new 4x4 td after I get this one running again. Any recomendations?

Answer
Trev,

I prefer the non-computer versions of diesels, but that would require you purchase an even older model of truck.

Duramax, Powerstroke, and Cummins ISB all have their problems and I cannot recommend one over the other.

A new PMD should not have failed so quickly.  You can go to www.kennedydiesel.com and click on "Tech Tips" to bring up a page where you can select "6.2/6.5 Tips."  On that page is a place to click for reading diagnostic codes.  I would read those and find out what faults the computer shows with the engine.
