GM-GMC: Truck noise, chevy cheyenne, highway speeds

Question
I own a 94 chevy cheyenne 1500 regular cab, not a four-wheel drive.

It is making noises on the driver's side rear end? Besides checking U joints, changing tire pressure and checking rear fluid, what else can i check to see what it making the noise? The noise stops after you reach 25miles per hour then it is every so often? Help!

Thanks
Jerrod

Answer
Jerrod,

If there isn't something loose inside the brake drum, you likely have an outer wheeel bearing going bad.

If you are not capable of changing the bearing yourself, you should have the problem diagnosed by a good mechanic soon.  If the bearing fails at highway speeds, you could cause a serious accident.
