GM-GMC: No engine response, accelerator pedal, diagnostic connector

Question
What would cause a 1994 6.5 with a 4L80 tranny to not respond when you press the accelerator. If you are moving it responds, if sitting still,in gear, it wont even rev. It's like the injector pump isn't receiving any signal.
P.S. The engine is a reman and hasn't run right since I Installed it.  Thanks;

Answer
As you likely know, there is no direct connection between the accelerator pedal and the injection pump.  The accelerator has potentiometers on it and they tell the computer how much to increase engine speed.

The accelerator pedal assembly is known to fail on 1994 and newer 6.5s.  A code reader should tell you what the problem is, or you may be able to jump terminals on the diagnostic connector and read the codes by counting the flashes of the Servie Engine Soon (or Check Engine) light.

Try www.kennedydiesel.com, and search the "Tech Tips" for instructions on how to read the codes.
