GM-GMC: AC, reputable shop, refrigerant

Question
I have a 1992 chevy half ton pickup. The AC will work good for 3 or 4 days then it will stop cooling. The blower will still work but no cold air comes out. When it does this the AC flashes on and off on the control panel.I can take the battery cabel off for a few seconds put it back on and it will work fine for a few days then stops blowing cold again.

Answer
Jimmy,

I think that your A/C system may be right on the borderline of having too little refrigerant in it.  A sensor is probably detecting this every couple of days and causing the compressor not  to run (or maybe the sensor is going bad).

I recommend that you take the vehicle to a reputable shop and have it evaluated.
