GM-GMC: thermostat temp, air fuel mixture, silverodo

Question
I have a 99 silverodo 5.3L. There is a 160 deg thermostat offered. I would like my engine to run cooler, but don't know at what temp does the computer changes the air/fuel mixture.

Answer
I don't know, either.  I do know that if the engine runs too cool, the computer will not deliver proper performance or economy.

195 degrees F is the standard thermostat used in modern engines.  I would not go below 180 degrees F and even that might upset the computer.
