GM-GMC: 1992 chevy van 20 (g20 v6) Brake lights not working., brake light switch, blown fuse

Question
Hi, the tail, signal and reverse lights all work but nothing happens when the brake pedal is pressed. All connectors are connected, the switch at the pedal is functional.
Is it the brake fuse? Where will i find the brake fuse?
Thanks
Mark

Answer
I cannot be sure on newer vehicles where the fuse box(es) is/are.

On my GMs, there are fuses for the brake lights in the main fuse panel under the dash to the right of the parking brake assembly.

Also, make sure that the brake light switch is adjusted properly.  They will sometimes move in their mounting bracket and stop working.  If you remove it, with the connector still on it, your brake lights should come on and this may be a way to find out if you have power to the switch (remove the connector and check for 12 Volts on one of the terminals in the connector.  No power indicates a blown fuse or a broken wire.
