Motorcycle Repair: Honda CB350 1969 questions, gunk engine cleaner, drain bolt

Question
Hello Bill, I've been reading your replies to some questions regarding CB350, but I have not found an answer for a couple of questions I have:

1.  Does this bike have a oil filter?
2.  How do I drain the oil?
3.  Is it okay to use Gunk engine cleaner?
4.  I removed the 4 screws off the clutch cover, but I cannot remove the cover, is there more screws I need to remove?  I sprayed it with penetrating oil and tryed hitting with a rubber hammber, but it doesn't move?

Thanks

Answer
Marco,  your answers below....

1. Yes, a centrifugal one mounted on the end of the crankshaft on the right side. Go to http://www.powersportspro.com/partsfish/login.asp
signup, log in, select HONDA MOTORCYCLE, then CB360T. The oil filter illustration there is very similar to the CB350s. Take out the outer snap ring, then find a LONG 6mm screw to put it into the small hole in the outer cover recess. Turn the screw in and the outer cover will come out for cleaning and give access to the internal section of the oil filter rotor.

2. There is a LARGE bolt on the bottom of the crankcase that is the drain bolt. Check the crankcase illustrations.

3. Gunk may take the paint off the cases/side covers, unless you use it sparingly and quickly rinse it off. Try some Simple Green or an Orange based cleaner, but also move quickly so you don't get streaking on the parts.

4. The clutch cover has 12 screws on the right side.... I think you meant the left side countershaft cover. The covers have two locating dowels that help center it on the crankcase and they often get rusted in place. You usually have to get a good hold of the cover and then rock it back and forth, while pulling it until it finally pulls loose. You may be able to get underneath it with a pry bar or screwdriver and help it along. Check left side cover illustrations.
