GM-GMC: 94 6.2 Diesel, injector lines, battery circuit

Question
Hi: I have a 1994 Chevy truck with a 6.2 diesel engine. Recently my fuel got contaminated, and after emptying the tank and Flushing out the fuel lines, I also replaced the fuel filter. But when I tried to start the engine my low presure fuel pump quit working, I replaced the pump and now I get fuel into the fuel filter housing and out of the flush line. I have bled out the air at the filter housing, but the high pressure pump does not seem to pump to the injectors, the reason I say this is because I have disconected three of the most accesible injector lines, and when I crank the engine no fuel comes out. I do have clean fuel in the tank now. I have also checked the high pressure pump solenoid and it works. I would greatly appreciate any help on solving this problem. Thanx

Answer
You need to do two things:

1) Temporarily wire the low pressure pump to run continuously by supplying a wire from a battery circuit to the pump.  This will ensure that the pump runs and stays running while you try to bleed the air out of the injection pump.

2) Loosen ALL of the injection lines at the injectors (or at least six of them).  Loosening just three lines does not allow all the air to escape from the injection pump.

After you get the engine started, reconnect the low pressure pump to its original wiring.
