GM-GMC: overheating, chevy blazer, tempature

Hi there I own a 200 chevy Blazer 4.3 . I have a problem with the heat What happens is the tempature will begin to rise once it reaches have way the heat will begin to blow cold air only then the temperature continues to rise to about the 3/4 mark for a few minutes then it will return to normal and the heat will kick in what could cause this ? thank you

Well what kind of coolant are you running. The coolant that is suppose to be in that vehicle is Dex Cool (red orange in color).

Did you buy the vehicle new or used?


Usually it is fine for the temp to get high as long as it doesn't reach the red mark.
