Mazda: Alternator belt, mazda protege, belt dressing

Question
I just had all new belts put on my 93 Mazda Protege and whenever I start the car I get horrible squeling.  I thought that it might because the belts were new and had to get "worn" in.  Guy at autozone said to lightly lubericate them and I did but the sound is still there.  He said that if the sounds still persisted after the lube that it might be the pulleys.  This sounds kind of goofy to me.  Should I be worried?  Should I take it back to the mechanic that replaced my belts and have him check/redo the job?

thank you for your help in advance
wes

Answer
Hi Wes-
definitly take it back to have it looked at - belt dressing can help (NOT lubricant) but if the belt was overtightened the bearings in the water pump or alternator could be going as well.  A mechanics stethescope can determine that quickly enough.
