Mercedes: fuel, cylinder diesel engine, electric fuel pump

hi i have a ssangyong musso fitted with a merc 5 cylinder diesel engine the ploblem i have the car runs find for about 5 or 10 miles and the cut out if i wait 5 or 10 mins it will start again and the the same ploblem appens again i have checked the fuel lines and they are ok and i have changed the fuel filter when this appens the fuel filter stays full of fuel and help with this ploblem would be very appresiated cheers fred

When the engine quits, is it as though you turned off the switch, or doe it respond like it is running out of fuel.
Because there is no ignition, the vehicle uses a valve to shut of the fuel or the intake air.  Does this vehicle use a mechanical or electric fuel pump. If the pump is electric,it may be overheating and shutting off until it cools down enough for the circuit breaker to reset.
This could either be in the vacuum system, or in the fuel supply pump.
If the injectors are electric then you may have an issue with the injector circuit.
