Mercedes: No power from 0 to 40 mph, mass air sensor, timing curve

1982 380 sel mercedes  set up 3 years..Where do I troubleshoot from here?..flushed gas tank replaced all hoses,fuel pump,fuel filter,spark plugs& wires,aired out gas reservoir, removed cat converter... run excellent over 50mph car starts immediately however when the gas pedal is pressed the engine stalls once released the engine regains power. Please help  I'vs spent a bundle and thanks..

If the Mass Air sensor is out of calibration,( between the air filter and the injector intake.) could be causing the vehicle to stall and be sluggish. I had a similar condition on a mazda. I found a used part and installed it and that fixed the problem.
As air passes through the sensor, it signals the computer to increase the injector open time to provide the right fuel ratio.
Just as kicks and grins... If it has not been done. disconnect the batter for thirty minutes. Clean and reinstall the terminals.
Then try a restart.
Another possibility is the timing advance. If the distributor advance diaphragm has a vacuum leak then the timing curve will be off during acceleration. If it has an internal advance and it is stuck then the same problem will occur.
