Mercedes: 85 190d primer pump., 190d, shutoff valve

have a 85 190d. won,t start. died after i shut off. put new fuel filter in it. seems like it won,t suck fuel to injector pump.took off primer pump. don,t know if its bad. how can i tell. larry  what else would cause it. wants to start but won,t. thanks larry

the injector pump may be out of prime, have you checked the fuel quantiy a. I am unsure if this vehicle uses a fuel pump or not. It may be on the back of the injectors.
There is a possibility that air shutoff valve solenoid has failed.
Sorry I do not know more.
