Mercedes: Valve Guide Seals, sway brace, ford pinto

Question
I have a 1989 190E 2.6 Mercedes. Is changing valve guide seals easy enough for a novice (such as myself) to accomplish?
I changed valve guide seals on a Ford Pinto one time and it was fairly painless.

Another question: How can I determine if the bushings on the rear axle sub-frame are worn out? I have a loud raddle from the rear axle area and have already replaced the links for the sway brace.

Answer
It is possible to DIY; but an oops can cost you $7,800.00 USD to repair = a new engine.
You should find that replacing the seals will last roughly 500 miles or one month.
The typical problem is bad valve guides = remove the heads for rework.
