Mitsubishi: 08 Spyder issues with convertible top, convertible, eclipse

Question
I have an 08 Spyder GT.  The top is up and latched.  It is beeping at me like it is not closed all the way.  If I unlatch it and try the open button, it beeps and won't open.  If I try the close button, it beeps at me.  It beeps when I am driving.  I tried waiting 7 minutes for it to reset itself as the owner's manual suggests, but that didn't work either.  Suggestions?

Answer
It sounds like the motor that drives the convertible top is not working.  This could be because of a fuse, relay, wiring, or may be a motor itself (but not likely).  I know that the beeping is annoying and frustrating.  There is a way to physically disable the bell, but it is there for the doors, ignition, trunk, and top... so its important.
I would suggest checking the fuse box, make sure the fuse for the convertible top is not blown.  Then check the manual for the location of the relay (under hood or underneath where the driver's petals are.) This is where you would want to start, then we can go from there...
