Mitsubishi: Brake light fuse keeps blowing out 1998 Exclipse, light fuse, amop

The brake light fuse keeps blowing out., replaced it with a 20 amop and still have the problem. What could I do to eliminate the problem

Well JC, to eleiminate the problem, you need to fix it. DO NOT INSTALL A BIGGER FUSE, this will cause a bunch of other problems including fire, meltdown of the wiring harness and frying the computer. Check all the bulbs. Sometime, in the socket, it can have a short due to corrosion. Clean the sockets thoroghly. If this doesn;t fix it then it's likely a bad brake switch. Does this fuse blow only after you touch the brake pedal or as soon as you put the fuse in?
