Oldsmobile/Buick: computer command ride, smooth pavement, vibration problem

Question
Hi,
I have a 1996 Olds LSS. I have an intermittent
vibration problem. It occurs when I encounter a
washboard type irregularity in the pavement.  The
whole car will start vibrating and it continues for some distance even on smooth pavement.  It
stops if I tap the brakes or accelerator.  I
believe the car has "computer command ride" suspension.  Has anybody
reported a problem with this where it rapidly
changes from firm to normal due to rapid traction
loss/recovery on washboard pavement?  How can I
disconnect this feature to test if that is the
cause of my problem?

Answer
Len ,

My expertise only goes as far as the mid to late 80's when it comes to GM cars . Your best bet would be to take the car to a qualified mechanic or call the dealer . Personally I have never heard of anything like that .

I did come across a good bit of recalls online for this feature , so I would make it priority to check it out for your safety . Sorry I couldn't have been of any more help to you . Don't forget to rate my response to you .

Cheers,
