Question
QUESTION: Saab 1972 900turbo with hall effect dissy recently done head gasket when all back together have not got a spark at plugs
coil tested on another Saab and ok power to coil and dissy ignition amplifier renewed and dissy renewed

ANSWER: Jeff:
Please clarify regarding the exact year of your SAAB. I do not believe Hall Effect distributors were fitted on SAABS in 1972.
Feel free to get back to me if you please.
Also, not that I have answered several several similar questions in the past, and that since I am on holiday for a week, will not be responding for awhile.

QUESTION: sorry wrong year car is a 1991

Answer
Jeff:
Functional signal flow for the Hall effect ignition system is a follows: The distributor, functioning as a crankshaft position sensor, sends signals to the ignition control module(pins 3 & 4 on the distributor and pins 5 & 6 on the controller, green and brown wires). The control module gets +12 volts on its pin 4(green violet wire). The controller's output to the coil is on its pin 1 ( black). So, the only logical thing left is a faulty wiring connection OR a misaligned distributor.
         Good luck, Jerry
