Saab: 93 900 nonturbo, SAAB 900 Control Unit Removal

Question
I am trying to locate the onboard computer/brain to swap out with another 93 900 parts car I have. I was told it is behind kickpanel on passenger side but difficult to access.
My mechanic feels the "brain" is dead and wants  to try using the spare I have to test it.
Operators manuel is useless of course.
Could you tell me were it is and best way to remove it...
appreciate the help!!

Answer
Sherm:
Actually it is, as you noted, behind the passenger "kickpanel" and is removed as follows:

a.Disconnect the (- ) battery terminal
b.Remove the door sill plate from the passenger front door; peel up the lower edge of the weatherstrip
c.Remove trim plate holding the carpet to the side panel; peel away the carpet exposing the control unit & relays
d.Unplug the wire harness by releasing the fastener and pivoting the connector UP & OFF
e. Unscrew the mounting screws and remove control unit

As you can see, its really not very difficult.

   Hope this helps,
