Saab: Saab 900i 16v 1991 intermitent starting, saab 900i, fuel pump relay

Hi Jerry.  Question from Northern Ireland. I've recently purchased the above vehicle and replaced all service parts. Intermitently she will not start - starter is engaging and turning engine over, but she does not fire. Come back in 5 minutes and she fires....? Any ideas? Have not been able to replace the fuel filter yet.

  My guess is that it is showing signs of a soon-to-fail fuel pump or fuel pump relay. Please search through some of my previous responses wherein I have provided a simple test procedure to diagnose such problems.
